There
are rumors circulating that the visual FX shots are being completed
and the film will be completed very soon. Fingers crossed. The samples
of the FX shots that I have seen are top notch, and J'Ello (the FX Guru)
is still tweaking them to meet his higher standard. It's been a long
road...

The
completed (or very, very nearly completed) "Starship 2: Rendezvous
With Ramses" will be shown at
Dragoncon at 2:30PM, Saturday, September 3rd, in the Regency V
ballroom in the Hyatt Regency, Atlanta GA. This huge event will mark
probably the last test screening of the movie before it is released.
Because it is such a high-profile event, we need as many people in attendance
as possible. If you have been fence-sitting on this particular convention,
may I encourage you to please go if at all possible.

The film is deep into post-production. I have seen samples of the visual F/X
and "it's going to be Beautiful". Final editing is being done and
after several test screenings, it looks like we have a winner!
5/7/02 Indianapolis, Star Wars Celebration2- Friday
night we were treated to a sneak peek of the rough cut of the complete film
(minus visual & sound effects), at a private party in the MagicHouse
suite. The response was great. Not to throw out any spoolers,
2/10/02 For those of you who haven't
been keeping track, Mark and J.ello have been doing some amazing stuff. They were at
least 50% done with the rough edit as of last week and hope to be nearing 100% sometime
this week. I
recently (Sunday)
spent the afternoon with Mark at the MagicHouse, and was shown a movie that not only would
I pay to see but
it left me hanging wanting to see the other half. For those who were concerned the
"courtroom" works. You'll find yourself hanging
on every turn. For those of us who know the script(or helped write it) it's wonderful to
see it come to life. The camera work
(by Starship 1 standards) is incredible. The multiple angles and dare I say
"closeups" add so much production value
that I can't begin to express the difference between this film and the last. The
highlights for me were the running gag of
"Technically YES" and just how well the guys interacted throughout. to make a
long story short (too late) We were not wasting
our time last summer. Keep up the good work guys!!!
1/18/02 Director/Producer Mark Racop takes break from editing to attend
